How to setup an email account in Outlook 2013 / 2016

For POP3 Settings:


  1. Open Outlook 2016. If you see a Welcome screen, select Next > Yes.
  2. Select File > Add Account.
  3. Select Manual setup or additional server types. Select POP3 > Next.
  4. Fill in your name as you want recipients to see it and fill in your email address.
  5. Select POP as the Account Type.
  6. Incoming Mail Server: Enter mail.yourdomain.co.za (Replace yourdomain.co.za with your actual domain name).
  7. Outgoing Mail Server(SMTP): Enter mail.yourdomain.co.za (Replace yourdomain.co.za with your actual domain name).
  8. The username is your full email address and your email address password. Tick ‘Remember password‘.
  9. Click ‘More Settings‘. Select ‘Outgoing Server‘ and tick the first box ‘My outgoing server requires authentication‘.
  10. Click ‘OK‘. Click ‘Next‘ and ‘Finish‘.
